The Jesse Rhoads family came from Kentucky in 1829 and settled on land south of the Macoupin
Creek. This site was later to be called Medora. Jesse built a cabin the north part of this area and

siah, Henry, William (some say it was Samuel not William), and Jacob and all were enterprising
