PLAINVIEW

A four horse stage wagon named the St. Louis Sangamon State Company was advertised in 1822 to run from St. Louis to Sangamon (now Springfield). It would run every two weeks taking two days to reach Sangamon. A change station for the changing of teams was located at this merging intersection about three miles east of where Plainview is now.
